There are heroes hidden among us. Every day heroes help the South African National Blood Service to share the greatest gift of all – the gift of life.
To every hero, thank you for showing courage, creating hope and committing to give life.
South Africa needs heroes that will serve the people of our country in a very special way. Blood donors are the true heroes as they save lives on a regular basis.
Be a hero – it’s in your blood...
To be a blood donor and a hero you need to be:
- Between the ages of 16 and 65
- Weigh more than 50kg
- Be in good health
- Lead a sexually safe lifestyle
